Overview

The Windows Production Support Administrator will be responsible for the administration of the bank's applications running on the Windows operating systems. The candidate in this role will be responsible for server administration, support of maintenance and vendor provided patches, investigation, and troubleshooting of application issues, and to provide support to application managers and developers.

This position will be a key member in JRIA's Application Production Support Team and will support bank's critical applications for Europe and North America. The candidate will be able to analyze and respond to application incidents and issues that occur within the production environment. He/She will also assist the applications teams with day-to-day administration and/or deployment, testing, debugging and maintenance activities for applications running on the Windows operating systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and identify appropriate changes and make recommendations for implementation
  • Implementing and supporting file transfer and encryption solutions to and from Windows environments and troubleshooting.
  • Plan, prepare, test and apply maintenance fixes provided by the application vendors
  • Develop test plans for implementing new software or new releases of the software
  • Assist application developers with high level problem program debugging and correction
  • Provide system support including off shift on call support as and when required.
  • Enhance staff skill levels by cross training


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Windows 2008/2012/2016 environment experience
  • 5+ years of Scripting experience - Powershell and Batch
  • Experience installing and configuration of the application software
  • Experience in applying application patches and maintenance packs
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory
  • Experience with Performance Management and Troubleshooting
  • Experience with process monitoring and audits is plus
  • IIS 7/7.5 experience
  • Understanding of Windows Shares, NTFS security, Editing the registry and Using Windows task scheduler.
  • Technical knowledge of implementing and supporting file transfer and encryption solutions to and from Windows environments and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
  • Perl Experience is a plus
  • File Transfer Methodologies (FTP, SFTP) is a plus
  • Experience with process monitoring and audits is plus
  • Experience with Tivoli Work Load Scheduler is a plus
  • Certification or Training in WebSphere MQ is plus
  • Oracle SQL and Toad experience is Plus
  • Highly developed sense of accountability and follow through with ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks, projects and goals.
  • Possess the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Possess ability to work within strict deadlines
  • Ability to work on weekends for maintenance, production implementations, recovery tests and system verifications / validations.

Ability to address production issues from home outside of normal business hours.
