MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage appraisal and evaluation process for all commercial lending areas of the Bank which is currently outsourced to an appraisal review firm. Manage environmental reports from third parties for all commercial lending areas of the bank. This will include making recommendations to include or remove appraisers and environmental consultants from the Bank's approved list to the appropriate levels
Manage day-to-day credit activities as it pertains to department workflow of the CRE Commercial Credit Underwriting Department.
Ensure completeness of department work product and appropriate analysis of credit risk. Ensure work flow efficiency and effectiveness. Interact with CRE lending staff and department head on a routine basis.
Acts as a mentor to the CRE underwriting team and train less experienced loan analysts. Participates in special projects as assigned; will prepare annual performance reviews of CRE underwriting staff
Supervises the team of CRE Loan Analysts. This includes interviewing, training and managing staff of 5 to 7 underwriters; planning, assigning and directing work; and addressing and resolving employee complaints and concerns.
SKILLS AND TRAINING
Strong commercial real estate credit underwriting and risk analysis skills.
Strong analytical skills with ability to highlight and mitigate risks.
Strong communication skills necessary to effectively interact with department heads and lending officers and effectively assist in mentoring and training staff.
Proficient in Commercial Real Estate Lending, including loan structure and appropriate credit analytical tools.
Ability to conduct meetings, effectively present information and respond to questions from peers, auditors and various levels of management.
Competent managerial skills as well as the ability to exercise judgment and resourcefulness in resolving employee questions and issues.
Excellent computer skills, including strong knowledge of and the ability to practically apply modern office software.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration. MBA preferred
5 to 10 years in banking or financial services industry with 3 to 5 years directly in CRE Credit.
Must have prior managerial experience.
