Payment Business Analyst, VP

About the Team

The Settlement Administration Unit (SAU) is responsible for the implementation of remittances and communications outside of Mizuho, and alsohandles a variety of additional functions that are processed by two separate sections:The Communications Section managesthe receipt and distribution of incoming Swift and facsimile traffic to other units for processing. The Communications Section is also responsible for the processing of outgoing Swift and Facsimiles on behalf of other units within Mizuho. The Payment Section processes outgoing payments and incoming credits for all other units within MHCB New York and is responsible for interbank funds transfers made via CHIPS (Clearing House Interbank Payments System) and Fedwire (Federal Reserve Bank payment system).

General Duties:

  • Carry out daily reconciliations of client money bank accounts and marketplace ledgers
  • Candidate needs to be able to work independently and accurately in a fast paced time sensitive environment.
  • Must be able to prioritize GMG and other wire payments to meet dead lines.
  • Liaising with payment operations and various teams across the business to investigate transactions within client accounts and ledgers
  • Collaborating with the Financial Operations colleague and other teams to identify new processes as well as improvements to current processes.
  • Each employee must understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy. Observation of Internal Controls
  • Each employee must be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.
  • Identify deficiency and risks in operations Be responsible for scoping and troubleshooting ad-hoc operational issues as they occur
  • Work closely with product and technology to identify features and contribute to the development of the marketplace platforms, reports and systems. Liaising with product and tech teams on any system changes
  • Ad-hoc project work Mentor any and all junior level analysts

Additional responsibilities:

Determines systems specification based on business requirements, working with business end users to elicit proper solution design

Works to integrate/implement systems solutions working with development, quality, and release teams

Performs tests to ensure the quality of solution as a part of the delivery process

Produces systems delivery specifications, technical systems design, user procedure documents, training documents, and rollout procedures as applicable

Qualifications:

  • 5+ Payments systems analyst with expertise in SWIFT MT.
  • Knowledge of BAFT - IFSA rules
  • Working knowledge of corporate cash management products such as Lockbox, Remote Deposit Capture, and Positive Pay Familiarity with payment files such as NACHA
  • Understand BSA/AML,
  • OFAC concepts and requirements.
  • Knowledge of Share Point is a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills Problem solving/analytical skills
  • Basic understanding and applies knowledge of the Project Life Cycle
  • Detailed oriented and out of the box analytical thinking a plus
