This position is responsible for supporting the R&D portfolio through expert capacity planning and analysis, strategic planning and use of various analytical tools. As a member of the Project Management Office within Global Project Management and Leadership, this position will be responsible for the overall maintenance and development of the project model and project management tools and systems used to generate portfolio and resource analyses reports. This position may also lead high complexity process and/or infrastructure projects in support of the R&D portfolio. This position may also be assigned to a drug development project as a lead project manager, and depending upon the future needs of the group, may manage direct reports.
Lead the maintenance and development of REDMAP (Research, Development & Manufacturing Plan) project timeline templates, PPMI (Project and Portfolio Management Integrator) systems, and other systems required for project planning and FTE resource management. Work closely with PMs, track and monitor REDMAP timelines for projects and utilize critical insights to optimize timelines.
Lead the cross project and benchmark evaluations, lead FTE demand and capacity analysis for portfolio prioritization, and lead resource projections to forecast FTE demand. Work closely with the functions to develop and maintain global FTE demand algorithms for functional resource assessments. Prepare reports for senior management and global development leadership team members and committees, as necessary. Provide recommendations on best practices for resource management.
Lead high complexity process and/or infrastructure projects; lead implementation of solutions in cross-functional and global settings.
Coordinate and provide process/systems training to PMs and other functions as appropriate.

Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred (i.e. MS MBA or PhD in a scientific discipline with additional relevant experience)
10+ years of relevant experience. At least 5 years cross-functional drug development coordination/resource management experience or equivalent.
Industry experience: Pharmaceutical, life science, clinical trials management, healthcare.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or training in project management strongly preferred.
Ability to recognize areas for improvement (e.g., processes, tools, reporting), conceptualize potential solutions and lead successful execution/implementation.
Adept at collaborating in a matrixed, multicultural environment and actively participating on project teams.
Comfortable working independently with minimal direction.
Possesses executive presence and can work equally well with junior to senior -level colleagues.
Is inquisitive and takes initiative to challenge the status quo and offer innovative solutions.
